The band emerged in the early 70s and rose to prominence after releasing a number of chart performing hits. In 1975, the band gained worldwide stardom with the release of mega hit “Get Down Tonight.” The song topped the Billboard Hot 100 and R&B chart and also earned the group two Grammy nominations. Led by Harry Wayne Casey, the band continued to dominate the charts in the 70s and 80s. The soon became one of the best selling bands from the era, easily selling over 100 million records.
